Assistant Professor of Graphic Design Kjellgren Alkire is one of the
newest members of the Northwestern faculty. Having started in August,
Alkire has only been around campus for about three months.
You can always tell how stressed I am by looking at my fingernails.
Whenever I am overwhelmed by a big task, I chew off my fingernail
polish and bite my nails feverishly.
I feel underqualified to talk about this subject; it’s something that
I’ve only just begun to ponder. I want to approach it with caution and
care. I don’t know why I haven’t thought about it before, and the only
reason I can think of is that I’m self-absorbed and ignorant.
